West Ham trio appear close to return

West Ham are hopeful that Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Arthur Masuaku will all return from injury soon after the international break.

Carroll has been out since August when he picked up a knee injury in a Europa League qualifier against Astra Giurgiu.

The club initially expected him to make a quick return to action but the injury-plagued Carroll has remained sidelined.

Fellow striker Sakho has yet to play for the Hammers this season because of a long-standing back problem.

Left-back Masuaku, a summer signing from Olympiakos, was ruled out for six weeks when he sustained a knee injury in the EFL Cup match against Accrington Stanley on September 29.

All three could return in time to face Tottenham in the London derby on 19 November, co-chairman David Gold has suggested.

He wrote on Twitter: “Arthur Masuaku, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll are all progressing well and should be available after the international break.”

West Ham host Stoke City on Saturday and after the trip to Spurs, they face Manchester United in both the Premier League and EFL Cup, before entertaining Arsenal and travelling to Anfield to face Liverpool.
