Transfer talk: Clubs linked with Hammers forward

Brighton, Huddersfield and Watford are interested in signing West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher on loan, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

Fletcher started just two Premier League matches for the Hammers last season and his first-team chances might be further limited by the big-money signing of Javier Hernandez.

Sky say a number of Championship clubs are also looking to snap him up ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Paris St-Germain have offered Arsenal £44m for Alexis Sanchez, according to The Sun.

The French club are said to have tabled a new bid for Sanchez after having a previous offer rejected. The story appears to have originated from the magazine France Football.

It comes as speculation over the Chilean’s future continues.

The Independent say Sanchez is determined to force a move to Manchester City and would be prepared to take a pay cut in order to join Pep Guardiola’s side.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that the club intend to keep Sanchez despite him now being in the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will give Vincent Janssen one more season, the Daily Mail say.

It follows recent speculation that the Netherlands striker could be sold this summer after struggling to make an impact in his first year in English football.

He has been linked with a number of clubs, but the Mail now say Spurs are not planning to offload him during the current transfer window.

Crystal Palace still want Mamadou Sakho but have been told by Liverpool they must pay £30m for him, the Daily Mirror say.

Sakho played a key role in keeping Palace up when he was on loan from the Reds last season and is reported to be keen to return to Selhurst Park.

The Mirror say Palace have been told there is no chance of another loan deal or of Liverpool lowering their apparent asking price.

Chelsea are interested in Everton’s teenage midfielder Tom Davies, The Sun say.

Davies, 19, has been linked with the champions amid reports that Chelsea plan to spend heavily during the final weeks of the transfer window and still have Virgil van Dijk in their sights.

The Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror say the Blues are keen to tie up deals for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, Swansea striker Fernando Llorente and Inter Milan midfielder Antonio Candreva.

The Mail say Southampton defender Van Dijk also remains a Chelsea target, while the Mirror say the club’s spending spree could yet involve a move for the Dutchman, who has also been targeted by Liverpool.

The Telegraph say signing Van Dijk is not a priority but that Chelsea will continue to monitor his situation at Southampton and could make a move for him closer to next month’s transfer deadline.

The Evening Standard, on the other hand, believe Chelsea’s pursuit of Van Dijk is over.
