Paper round-up: Wilshere reportedly favours Hammers move

Jack Wilshere wants to stay close to London so would favour a move to West Ham if he leaves Arsenal this summer, according to The Independent.

The England midfielder, who has a year remaining on his contract at the Emirate Stadium, spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, who have not pursued a deal to sign him permanently.

Several European clubs have been linked with Wilshere, 25, and Arsenal are reported to be hoping to sell him for £20m.

But The Independent say he is reluctant to go abroad and that his preference would be a move to the Hammers, who have not made an official approach for him.

Meanwhile, The Sun say Arsenal are finally set to sign Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar in a £45m deal.

The Daily Mail say Tottenham are considering a move for Hoffenheim defender Jeremy Toljan after talks with Porto over full-back Ricardo Pereira stalled.

And The Sun have picked up on reports that agent Jorge Mendes has held talks with AC Milan over a potential deal to sign Diego Costa.

The Spain striker, who has been told he has no future at Chelsea, is said to be keen to rejoin his former club Atletico Madrid, but they are under a transfer ban until January.
