Paper round-up: Clubs reportedly set to battle for Doucoure

Manchester United will compete with Tottenham and Arsenal for the signing of Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure, the Daily Mirror say.

Both London clubs have recently been linked with the midfielder, as have Liverpool.

And the Mirror claim United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to battle with those clubs to sign Doucoure this summer.

Amid continued speculation over Arsene Wenger’s future, the Mirror say Paris St-Germain are interested in appointing the Frenchman if he leaves the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

There is growing resentment among Arsenal players at the wages being paid to recent signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the award of a lucrative contract to Mesut Özil, according to The Times.

Arsenal are considering a £20m move for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners’ head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is said to be keen to bring in a new keeper this summer and Germany international Leno, 26, has apparently been identified as a potential signing.

And there continues to be speculation over the future of Fulham prospect Ryan Sessegnon.

Tottenham and Chelsea are among the clubs to have been linked with the 17-year-old, who has scored 14 goals this season.

Manchester United and Manchester City are also reported to be chasing Sessegnon – but the Daily Express say he favours a move to Liverpool.
