Paper round-up: Millwall among clubs linked with Gilliead

Millwall are among three Championship clubs reportedly interested in Newcastle youngster Alex Gilliead.

The Newcastle Chronicle believe the Lions, Sunderland and Hull City are keen on Gilliead, who is on loan at Bradford City until January.

He has impressed in League One but is said to be keen to step up to the Championship.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are among Premier League clubs said to be interested in Dutch striker Alessio da Cruz.

The 20-year-old, who plays for Serie B side Novara Calcio, has been linked with several clubs by the Italian media.

And the Daily Mirror say Arsenal have been keeping tabs on the youngster along with Brighton, Southampton and Swansea.

The Daily Star reckon Arsenal are edging closer to signing Nabil Fekir from Lyon.

Fekir, who would apparently cost £60m, has been touted as a replacement for Alex Sanchez at the Emirates Stadium.

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson wants to sign out-of-favour Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe, The Sun say.

The Congo striker has scored 10 goals in 30 starts for the Cherries since being signed from Wolves for £10m in 2016.

The Sun say Palace are looking to sign him for £10m when the transfer window opens in January.

The Daily Express believe Chelsea are ready to pay £60m for Juventus wing-back Alex Sandro.

And David Luiz is again being linked with a move to Real Madrid.

There has been speculation about the Brazilian’s future since he was recently dropped from the Chelsea side by boss Antonio Conte.

A number of newspapers, including the Daily Mail, say Real are considering a move for Luiz in January.
