Paper round-up: Everton confident of Lookman deal, Independent say

Everton are confident of clinching the signing of Charlton teenager Ademola Lookman, The Independent say.

The 19-year-old forward has been linked with several clubs and The Independent say Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Celtic are still showing an interest

But it is claimed that Everton look likely to agree a deal with Charlton worth up to £11m.

The newspaper adds, however, that a potential sticking point is that the Addicks want him to return to them on loan but that Everton are keen for Lookman to go straight into their first-team squad.

The Merseyside club are said to have identified Lookman as a replacement former Palace star Yannick Bolasie, who faces a long spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, The Sun say Palace want to sign playmaker Lucas Lima from Brazilian club Santos but are refusing to budge on their valuation.

The Eagles were reportedly ready to pay £12.5m for him last summer but are now said to be unwilling to pay more than £8m because his contract expires in December 2017.

And the Daily Mirror say Chelsea could replace Oscar with Diego Laxalt.

It comes after Laxait’s agent claimed Chelsea have watched the Genoa man, and with Oscar discussing a big-money move to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG.
