Paper round-up: Watford want Gibbs but not for £15m, Mirror say

Watford boss Marco Silva wants to sign Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal but the Hornets are unwilling to pay the asking price, the Daily Mirror say.

Arsenal reportedly want £15m for the England international left-back, who is said to be among Silva’s top transfer targets this summer.

Meanwhile, Tottenham and Manchester City have opened talks over Kyle Walker, again according to the Mirror.

England defender Walker has been linked with a move to City for some time and the Mirror say discussions between the two clubs are under way, with Spurs apparently unwilling to accept less than £50m.

Kieran Trippier, who has been tipped to replace Walker as Tottenham’s first-choice right-back, is understood to have signed a new five-year contract worth £65,000-a-week, the Mirror reports.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean Michaël Seri, according to The Guardian.

Paris St-Germain and Barcelona are also said to be keen on the Ivory Coast international, who has been tipped to move this summer.

The Guardian say his representatives have met with officials from Premier League clubs to discuss a potential deal for the 25-year-old.

The Sun say Arsenal have launched a £35m bid for Thomas Lemar following reports a previous approach has been rejected by Monaco.

The Mirror say Manchester City are frontrunners to sign Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, while The Guardian say he is keen to play under City boss Pep Guardiola

The Mirror also continue to link Spurs with AC Milan midfielder Suso, and Chelsea with Roma defender Kostas Manolas.

The Daily Telegraph say Bournemouth are close to completing the signing of Nathan Ake from Chelsea for £20m.

Metro have picked up reports in Italy claiming that Chelsea have made made an enquiry about Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng.

Chelsea face competition from Paris St-Germain for Alex Sandro, the Daily Mail reckon.

Amid reports Juve want £61m, the Mail say PSG have emerged as contenders to sign Sandro, who has also been linked with Manchester City.

And the Mirror say West Ham are ready to offload Robert Snodgrass just six months after signing him from Hull.
