Tottenham and Fulham target Plea moves to Germany

Borussia Monchengladbach have won the race to sign Nice striker Alassane Plea.

The 25-year-old, who attracted interest from several clubs, including Tottenham and Fulham, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Foals.

Plea, a former France Under-21 international, scored 44 goals and provided 23 assists in 135 games during his four years at Nice.

Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl said on his club’s website: “We’re extremely glad that this transfer has gone through and we were able to sign Alassane despite a lot of competition from various other well-known clubs.

“Thankfully for us, he wanted to come to Borussia at all costs. He’s a versatile, quick and clever forward who has put his talent on full display in Ligue 1 and the Europa League.”
