QPR defender a doubt for Nottingham Forest game

Jordy de Wijs is a doubt for QPR ahead of their match against Nottingham Forest later today.

The on-loan Hull City central defender missed Saturday’s home win against Coventry City and it remains to be seen whether he is fit for the Easter Monday clash.

He was troubled by a persistent calf problem following his arrival at Loftus Road and impressed after finally being passed fit to play.

But the Dutchman then suffered a groin injury against Reading prior to the international break.

He has since returned to training but the Forest game may come just too soon for him.

R’s boss Mark Warburton will be returning to the City Ground, where he spent a short spell as Forest boss.

“It’s a great football stadium – the fans were quite good to me last year,” Warburton told West London Sport.

“I would never say or do anything to upset the fans there and if you go to work every day, work hard and be the best you can be that is all you can do.

“From our point of view the fans were good to us, but my job as QPR manager is to go up there and get the three points.”
