Four QPR youngsters who could get a chance against Peterborough

QPR face Peterborough in the EFL Cup this evening and the game will give Steve McClaren a chance to rest some players and look at others.

The Rangers manager has plenty of youngsters at his disposal. Here are four of those who might feature at Loftus Road tonight….

Joe Lumley

The young goalkeeper has moved up the pecking order following Rangers’ sale of Alex Smithies to Cardiff and signed a new contract this summer. McClaren could take the opportunity to leave out Matt Ingram and have a look at the club’s number two keeper.

Niko Hamalainen

Jake Bidwell is QPR’s only senior left-back following Jack Robinson’s departure and in order to keep Bidwell fresh and look at another option, McClaren could decide to give Hamalainen a go.

Ryan Manning

The Irish midfielder made a big impact last season and the season before last when selected, but his first-team opportunities have been limited. This seems like the perfect chance to give him a run-out.

Ilias Chair

Chair is another young midfielder who has caught the eye at senior level and will be hoping for a chance to impress McClaren this evening.
