Reports: Chelsea lining up deals for Kimpembe and Kounde

Chelsea have offered Paris Saint-Germain £40m for defender Presnel Kimpembe and are back in talks with Sevilla over the signing of Jules Kounde, according to the Daily Mail.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring in top-class defenders this summer after losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly has been signed from Napoli and it appears that the spending on defenders will not end there.

The Mail suggest Chelsea are determined to land Kimpembe, who has been linked with a number of clubs.

And the Daily Mirror say Chelsea are increasingly confident of finally agreeing a deal to bring Kounde to Stamford Bridge.

Kounde is a long-term target but the club have previously been unable to reach an agreement with Sevilla over a fee.

With new players on the way in, there is inevitably more speculation over the future of youngster Levi Colwill.

Several clubs have been linked with Colwill, 19, amid reports he wants regular first-team football.
Everton’s former Blues boss Frank Lampard is said to be keen to take the youngster to Goodison Park this summer.

And The Athletic reports that Colwill will look to leave Chelsea if the club sign more defenders.
