QPR star’s transfer is off – could Crystal Palace now make their move?

QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel has rejected a move to Club Brugge.

There has been speculation about Osayi-Samuel’s future since the Belgian outfit had an offer of £4.7m for him accepted.

He has been mulling over the transfer and Brugge have been waiting for a decision from him.

And West London Sport reports that Osayi-Samuel has decided against the move and is set to return to training with the rest of the QPR squad next week.

West London Sport also say Crystal Palace have been considering matching Club Brugge’s offer but have so far not done so.

It remains to be seen whether Palace will eventually make a move for Osayi-Samuel, who was excellent for QPR in the Championship last season.

He clearly has ability and, at 22, plenty of potential for development in the coming years.

Given some of the transfer fees being paid for players, £4.7m would seem like a risk-free signing for a club like Palace, who might well be tempted to snap him up.

The problem for QPR is that Osayi-Samuel only has a year remaining on his contract at Loftus-Road, meaning he could go on a free transfer next summer if no-one decides to buy him.
