Reports: Tomori’s Leeds move off and Drinkwater heading to Turkey

Fikayo Tomori’s proposed loan move to Leeds United now seems unlikely following an injury to fellow Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen.

Tomori has barely featured for the Blues this season, making just three appearances in total with his only Premier League outing coming as a substitute in the home loss against Liverpool.

Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Christensen have all been ahead of the England international defender under boss Frank Lampard.

Danish defender Christensen suffered a knee injury in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge and Lampard is eager to ensure he has adequate cover.

Everton and Newcastle United have both also been linked with 23-year-old Tomori, who before Christensen’s injury looked likely to be heading out on loan for the rest of the season.

The Sun reports that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is eager to strengthen his defence which has been hit by injury and has conceded 33 goals in 17 league games this season.

Meanwhile out-of-favour Blues midfielder Danny Drinkwater seems set set to join Turkish side Kasimpasa on loan, according to reports.

The 30-year-old England international joined Chelsea in 2017 but has not played a first-team game since March 2018 and has had unsuccessful loan spells at both Burnley and Aston Villa.
