Leicester star reportedly among four defenders on Chelsea’s radar

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring in at least one more centre-back in addition to the recent signing of Kalidou Koulibaly.

With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen having left, and with doubts over the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, the club clearly need to bolster their defensive options.

Chelsea were expected to finally agree a deal to sign Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, but it seems he could instead be on his way to Barcelona.

Kounde has been a target for some time but Chelsea could not agree a fee with Sevilla and again seem to have hit a wall in their attempts to bring the France international to Stamford Bridge.

Other options are therefore being considered and the Daily Mail say Fofana, who was outstanding for Leicester last season, is of interest.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe and Inter’s Milan Skriniar are said to be among the centre-backs on Chelsea’s radar. So too is RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, but the German club are believed to be determined to keep him.

Fofana signed a new five-year deal in March so is under contract at the East Midlands club until 2027.
