Arsenal youngster Nketiah scores hat-trick

Prolific 17-year-old striker Eddie Nketiah scored a hat-trick as Arsenal’s Under-23s beat Leicester 3-0 on Monday.

The teenager opened the scoring in the 13th minute and then struck twice early in the second half to take his tally for the season to 14.

Nketiah’s first came when he collected a Reiss Nelson pass inside the penalty area, turned a defender and bent a shot beyond the grasp of Leicester keeper Daniel Iversen.

Chris Willock later forced Iversen into a save, while at the other end, Gunners keeper Hugo Keto denied Kairo Mitchell.

Nketiah’s second was a superb individual effort, picking up the ball on halfway, taking on a backpedalling Leicester defence before striking a low finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

He quickly grabbed his hat-trick with the simplest of finishes from Vlad Dragomir’s lofted pass.

Meanwhile, Shilow Tracey scored both goals as Tottenham’s development side came back from two down to draw 2-2 at Sunderland.

Also in Premier League 2, Stephen Humphrys scored twice as Fulham beat West Ham 4-1 at Craven Cottage.

Elsewhere, Charlton’s Under-23s won 1-0 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
