Seaman urges Gunners to sign Zaha

Former Arsenal keeper David Seaman believes Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha should be in Mikel Arteta’s transfer plans.

The Gunners are among several clubs to have tracked the Palace forward in recent seasons, and Seaman believes the Ivory Coast international remains keen on a move to the Emirates.

Arteta’s side have been goalshy this season and have found the net just 10 times in as many Premier League matches.

“I think Zaha would be a good addition to Arsenal because he’s a proven goalscorer,” the former England keeper told the Target Man Podcast.

“I don’t know the reason why it hasn’t happened as he obviously wants to come.

“Whether it’s the agents and clubs not agreeing certain things, that must be the reason, but he’s made it clear that he wants to come as he’s an Arsenal fan.

“He would be a good addition to the squad, no doubt at all.”

Seaman also had some sober predictions for Arsenal’s Premier League fortunes this season.

The Gunners sit 14th after an inconsistent start to their domestic campaign.

“The way Arsenal are now, top four is going to be almost like winning the Premier League,” he added.

“The team need to get a run going and gain confidence again, but I do think top four would be a great season for Arsenal.”
