Paper round-up: West Ham reportedly considering Oxford offers

West Ham are considering offers from Spanish club Eibar and Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar to take Reece Oxford on loan until January, according to the Mail on Sunday.

There has been speculation over the 19-year-old’s future since he returned from a loan spell at German club Borussia Monchengladbach, where he impressed.

The Mail on Sunday say both offers for Oxford are with a view to extending the deal until the end of the season and then a £2m permanent move.

The Mail on Sunday also say Aaron Ramsey is prepared to follow Mesut Ozil’s example and wait until January before resolving his Arsenal future.

Ramsey is now in the final year of his contract and when in the same situation Ozil waited until the January transfer window was open to negotiate a contract reportedly worth £300,000 a week.

Ramsey is said to be ready to use the same tactic in order to make sure he gets the most lucrative deal.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror say Manchester United made no attempt to sign Toby Alderweireld or Danny Rose during the recent transfer window despite being linked with the Tottenham duo.

The Sunday Mirror even suggest Spurs made an approach to United to see if a sale could be agreed.

A ‘Tottenham source’ is quoted as saying: “There was never any interest from United in either Alderweireld or Rose. So it wasn’t a case of us refusing to sell either player to them — they never spoke to us.”

Paris St-Germain are ready to offer Spurs £100m for Christian Eriksen if the French club fail with a £81m bid for Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic, the Sunday Express claim.

The Sunday Express also claim Manchester United are lining up a January bid for Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon.

The Sun on Sunday say Monaco want to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea.

Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham will reject a loan move to Aston Villa, the Sunday Mirror reports.

And the Sunday Times say Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is plotting a sale of the club.
