Nasri’s West Ham move could be off – reports

Samir Nasri’s move to West Ham could be called off, according to reports.

Former Arsenal star Nasri, who played under Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City, has had a medical ahead of a proposed move to the London Stadium.

He is a free agent, having served an 18-month drugs ban, and would be available to play for the Hammers from January.

However, the Daily Mirror say the move is in danger of collapsing because of concerns over Nasri’s fitness.

The newspaper say there are fears Nasri, 31, is so out of shape he will not be ready to play by January and that the club are wary of handing out another lucrative contract to an unfit player, with the likes of Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere and Andrew Yarmalenko already on the sidelines.

The Mirror say Nasri is being offered £80,000 to move to east London and that the deal would include an option for him to stay beyond next summer if he impresses.

The Daily Mail, on the other hand, claim Nasri is pushing for £95,000 a week and that the move could be scrapped, not because of doubts over his fitness, but because of his wage demands.

The Mail also believe negotiations have been complicated by an unnamed Chinese club showing an interest in the player.

Nasri knows he would be able to get more money in China, the Mail say.
