Paper round-up: Hammers linked with Sanchez

West Ham are interested in former Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Hammers are said to have held talks over a potential deal to sign the 32-year-old Colombia international from Fiorentina.

Sanchez is seemingly available for a move, having spent last season on loan at Spanish side Espanyol.

West Ham continue to be linked with Danny Drinkwater – the Mirror say Chelsea will let him leave on loan if they sign another midfielder and receive a £3m loan fee.

Manchester United have made Tottenham a final offer for Toby Alderweireld, the Mirror say.

The Belgian defender has long been linked with a move to United, who have been tipped to sign him prior to this week’s deadline.

The Mirror say Spurs want more than £50m and that United are only prepared to give them £40m.

The Mirror also pick up on reports in Italy that Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is a target for Roma.

Meanwhile, The Sun reports that Arsenal are set to give promising youngster Reiss Nelson a long-term contract.

Nelson, 18, has impressed for the Gunners and is regarded as one of the country’s best prospects.

The Sun say Arsenal are looking to tie him to a five-year contract in order to cement his long-term future at the club.

Fulham want to sign Dedryk Boyata but Celtic are reluctant to sell the former Manchester City defender, the Daily Mail say.

The Sun link Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovačić with a possible pre-deadline move to Chelsea.

The Daily Express say Stoke’s Jack Butland, AC Milan’s Pepe Reina, Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Sevilla’s Sergio Rico are being lined up as possible replacements for Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois, whose future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt.

And the Daily Telegraph reports that Crystal Palace have not received any approaches for Wilfried Zaha despite Tottenham and Chelsea being linked with the winger.
