West Ham linked with Leeds United star, Spurs reportedly snapping up Pochettino Jr

West Ham are interested in signing Leeds United striker Chris Wood, according to The Sun.

The New Zealander, who once had a spell at Millwall, has scored 14 goals in 25 appearances in the Championship and been linked with a number of clubs in recent months.

The Hammers are keen to sign a striker and have had several offers for Brentford’s Scott Hogan rebuffed, while also failing in an attempt to bring Jermain Defoe back from Sunderland.

Now The Sun claims West Ham and Sunderland both want Wood – although ESPN believe Leeds’ asking price may put both off.

Meanwhile, there is further speculation over the future of Dimitri Payet.

Marseille want to sign the Frenchman, who has told West Ham he wants to leave the club, but talks on Monday ended without agreement.

Sky Sports News HQ claim Payet would be taking a 30% pay cut in leaving the Hammers, while the Daily Mirror say the club’s hierarchy are keen for the midfielder to apologise to fans and return to first-team training.

And Tottenham have offered boss Mauricio Pochettino’s son a scholarship at their academy, according to the Daily Mail.

Fifteen-year-old Maurizio plays as a winger and has been in the club’s Under-16 team this season.
