Paper round-up: Hammers linked with Mali forward

West Ham are said to be among Premier League clubs keen on Porto forward Moussa Marega.

The Daily Mirror declare that Porto “are ready to start a three-way Premier League auction” by selling Marega and that he is wanted by the Hammers, Everton and Swansea.

The France-born 26-year-old, who plays for Mali, reportedly has a £35m buy-out clause in his contract.

The Mirror say Porto are unlikely to get that amount for him but suggest West Ham and Everton might make an offer.

Meanwhile, The Times reports that West Ham boss David Moyes is unsure whether to sign João Mário on a permanent deal this summer.

The Portuguese midfielder has impressed since joining on loan from Inter Milan but his long-term future remains unclear.

Moyes said: “I wouldn’t want to even comment on that now, because I won’t make any decisions or even look at it [yet]. I’ll take my time, see what we’ve got, and see where we’re going to go.”

But Moyes did praise the player, saying: “Tell me who’s made an impact as a January signing for any Premier League club?

“It’s not that easy to think of players who have made an impact from January.”
