West Ham among clubs linked as Nigerian forward is touted for move

West Ham are among English clubs reported to be showing an interest in KAS Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru.

Sky Sports News HQ say the teenage forward’s representatives have held talks with two Premier League sides and are said to be confident their player will be in England next season.

Hammers scouts are reported to have watched him in action along with those from Southampton and Everton.

Nigerian Onyekuru, 19, is reported to have an £6.8m release clause in his Eupen contract and a number of clubs have been linked with him in recent months.

Belgian outfit Eupen reportedly refused to sell him to Celtic during the January transfer window and the player is said to have rejected potential moves to Club Brugge and Anderlecht.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports News HQ have also reported that Newcastle are in talks to sign Christian Atsu on a permanent basis.

The Ghana winger, 25, made 35 appearances for the promoted Magpies during his season-long loan from Chelsea.

Newcastle reportedly have the option of signing him for £6.2m and manager Rafael Benitez is said to be keen to do so.

Atsu has not made a first-team appearances for the Blues, who signed him in the summer of 2013.
