Paper round-up: Isco, Barkley, Jenkinson, Defoe and more

The Daily Mirror have again touted Real Madrid’s Isco for a possible move to Tottenham.

The midfielder, 24, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the build up to successive transfer windows.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of his and is keen to sign him, it is claimed.

The Daily Telegraph say Tottenham are considering making an offer for Everton’s England midfielder Ross Barkley during the January transfer window.

The newspaper suggests Spurs were planning a move for Barkley, 23, in the summer but believe Everton manager Ronald Koeman might be prepared to sell before then.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also said to be interested in Barkley, who, according to the Telegraph, is therefore unlikely to make a decision on his future until the end of the season.

Chelsea have previously been linked with the player and are said to be long-term admirers.

And Barkley is among several players to have been touted as a potential replacement for the likes of Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain amid speculation over their long-term futures at Arsenal.

Meanwhile, AC Milan and Roma have reignited their apparent interest in Wilshere, according to the Daily Star.

New Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce could look to sign Carl Jenkinson on loan from Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.

And the Mirror say West Ham are convinced Jermain Defoe wants to rejoin the club from Sunderland next month.
