Paper round-up: Spurs linked with Bertrand

Tottenham are among the clubs being linked with Ryan Bertrand, who reportedly plans to leave Southampton this summer.

The Sun claim Manchester United are interested in the ex-Chelsea left-back as a possible alternative if they do not sign Tottenham’s Danny Rose.

And the newspaper claims that if United do sign Rose then Spurs could look to bring in Bertrand as a replacement.

The Sun say Southampton would not let Bertrand leave previously because they did not feel they could afford to lose both him and Virgil van Dijk in the same season.

Van Dijk later joined Liverpool and it is suggested that Bertrand will now seek a move elsewhere.

Newcastle and Everton are also believed to be interested, The Sun say.

The Sun have also picked up on reports in Spain claiming that Arsenal are chasing Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez.

Meanwhile, Danny Drinkwater is growing frustrated at Chelsea and could seek a move this summer, The Guardian say.

The newspaper suggests Drinkwater is unhappy at playing a bit-part role for the Blues since being signed from Leicester last year.

He has made only five starts and apparently believes his future might lie away from Stamford Bridge.

And Chelsea have again been linked with Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, who was touted for a move to the Bridge during the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail reckon Chelsea have made an enquiry about him and that he has been watched by a host of other clubs.
