Paper round-up: Spurs planning move for Lallana, Sunday Express claim

The Sunday Express claim Liverpool are set to double Adam Lallana’s wages in order to stop him joining Tottenham.

The newspaper declares that Mauricio Pochettino has Lallana, 28, “top of his wanted list” and that the Spurs boss is “ready to make a shock move” for the England midfielder during this month’s transfer window.

It is claimed that Liverpool are therefore set to offer Lallana a new contract which will make him among the highest earners at Anfield.

The Sunday Mirror say Barcelona are set to battle with Real Madrid for the signing of Dele Alli.

It follows recent reports that Real are looking to sign the Tottenham star and that Chinese clubs are keen to land Alli and his Spurs team-mate Harry Kane.

The Sun on Sunday say Alli has no intention of leaving White Hart Lane and will snub a potential big-money move to China and the chance to earn £800,000 a week.

The Sun on Sunday also say Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce has joined West Ham in trying to sign Jermain Defoe from Sunderland.

Meanwhile the Daily Star Sunday claim Pochettino is on a shortlist of possible replacements for Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.

And Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere is wanted by Everton manager Ronald Koeman, according to the Sunday People.
