Spurs eyeing Martial and Arsenal want Fabinho, Mirror say

Tottenham are interested in out-of-favour Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims that Spurs could offer Martial “an escape” from Old Trafford in the summer.

There has been speculation over Martial’s future for much of the season as he has failed to hold down a regular first-team place under United boss Jose Mourinho.

The Mirror also say Spurs will have to pay £5m to sign back-up keeper Pau Lopez on a permanent basis.

Lopez is on a season-long loan from Espanyol and has not made a first-team appearance since his arrival in England.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are in talks to sign Monaco’s Fabinho, again according to the Mirror.

The 23-year-old, who can play at full-back or in midfield, is apparently rated at more than £35m.

Manchester United have also been linked with Fabinho, whose father recently suggested to French television that his son would favour a move to Manchester City.

The player’s father has also claimed that there has been interest from Barcelona ahead of a possible summer move.

“We have been in talks with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and approached by Barcelona,” he said.

“We like Manchester United and Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City.”
