Paper round-up: Spurs linked with Fejsa

Tottenham want Benfica midfielder Ljubomir Fejsa, The Sun say.

The 28-year-old Serbia international has been branded European football’s Mr Success after winning 10 championship medals in the last nine seasons, including triumphs at Partizan Belgrade and Olympiacos.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to have targeted Fejsa after having an £18m bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva turned down.

Meanwhile,  Crystal Palace are among Premier League clubs interested in Benfica’s Andre Carillo, again according to The Sun.

Stoke City, Newcastle and newly-promoted Huddersfield are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old Peru international, who was signed from Sporting last year.

Carillo, who can play up front or on the wing, is apparently keen to move to England and The Sun say Benfica would be prepared to sell him for £6m.

Palace are looking to sign West Ham goalkeeper Adrian for £3m, the Daily Mail say.

Middlesbrough are in talks to sign Ashley Fletcher from West Ham for £7m, The Sun say.

The forward is reported to have flown back to England from West Ham’s pre-season training camp in Germany to talk to Boro.

Top-flight clubs Huddersfield, Watford and Brighton are also said to be interested in the 21-year-old, who started only two Premier League games for the Hammers last season.

His first-team chances at the London Stadium appear to have further diminished following the signing of Javier Hernandez.

Paris St-Germain are said to have dropped their interest in Alexis Sanchez because they accept the Arsenal forward wants to join Manchester City, The Sun reports.

The story is based on a French journalist claiming that PSG have ended their pursuit of Sanchez after having two bids for him rejected.

It comes after The Sun recently declared that PSG had offered Arsenal £44m for Sanchez. It was subsequently reported elsewhere that no offer had been submitted.

The Independent recently claimed that Sanchez is determined to force a move to City as he is desperate to play under their manager Pep Guardiola.

And Manchester United believe they can persuade Chelsea to sell Nemanja Matic to them, The Independent say.

United’s former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been tipped to go for Matic after Tottenham made it clear they would not sell Eric Dier.
