Paper round-up: Mirror say United lead Rose race

Manchester United lead a race to sign Tottenham’s Danny Rose, the Daily Mirror say.

The newspaper say the England full-back, 26, is set to leave Spurs after 10 years at the club.

It comes as Manchester City, who were previously reported to be looking to sign Rose, are now said to have targeted Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy as their preferred choice.

City have also been linked with Rose’s Tottenham team-mate Kyle Walker.

The Mirror also say Arsenal will offer Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil a combined £30m per season to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are said to have offered Ozil £280,000 a week and are reportedly set to offer Sanchez £275,000 a week.

Meanwhile, The Times say Tottenham are favourites to sign Fulham’s teenage left-back Ryan Sessegnon, who has been linked with several clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

Former England boss Roy Hodgson is desperate to take over as Crystal Palace manager, according to The Sun.

And Chelsea have identified Jerome Boateng as a possible alternative to Virgil van Dijk, The Sun say.

Southampton’s Van Dijk is said to be Chelsea’s first-choice signing as they look to bring in a centre-back this summer.

The Sun say the Blues have made an enquiry about Bayern Munich’s Boateng and see him as a back-up option.
