Tottenham and Liverpool reportedly want German youngster

Tottenham could face competition from Liverpool for the signing of Max Meyer, the Daily Mirror say.

Spurs are said to be keen to sign the 21-year-old Schalke midfielder, who has been dubbed “the German Dele Alli”.

Everton have also been linked with Meyer and the Mirror claim Liverpool are also set to target him.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reported to have watched the player in action twice recently.

Reports in Germany suggest Meyer could be sold for £17m.

Meanwhile, Tottenham duo Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko are wanted by Italian clubs, again according to the Mirror.

It is claimed that Lamela, who has two years left on his contract at White Hart Lane, is being eyed by Inter Milan.

Inter, who have been widely tipped to spend big during the close season, apparently believe they can land the 25-year-old for around £10m this summer.

France midfielder Sissoko, who has failed to impress since arriving from Newcastle in a big-money move last year, continues to be linked with a switch away from north London.

Juventus and AC Milan are both believed to be interested in signing Sissoko, although he says he would prefer to stay at the Lane and fight for a first-team place.

The Mirror also say Spurs are tracking Hoffenheim’s highly-rated attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri, 20, ahead of a possible move.

And there continues to be speculation linking Tottenham’s Eric Dier with a potential move to Manchester United this summer.

The Sun claim United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to snap up Dier and sees him as a possible replacement for Michael Carrick at Old Trafford.

England international Dier was reported to be a target for former Chelsea manager Mourinho during the January transfer window.
