Liverpool have been linked with Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The Sun claim Liverpool could move for Wilshere, 26, if he rejects a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

It comes as the England international, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, is discussing a new contract with the club.

Arsenal are reported to have offered Wilshere a new deal on reduced wages.

The Sun claim Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to match Wilshere’s current salary and snap him up on a free transfer this summer.

Wilshere, it is claimed, has been lined up as a possible replacement for Emre Can at Anfield.

Meanwhile, The Sun also reports that France boss Didier Deschamps advised Olivier Giroud to leave Arsenal.

Striker Giroud could make his Chelsea debut against Watford tonight following his recent move to the Blues.

He said: “Deschamps didn’t encourage me to join Chelsea, he encouraged me to change clubs.

“Everyone knows my attachment to the France side and every time I wear the shirt it’s with a lot of pride.

“So of course I want to play the World Cup in Russia, which will surely be my last, so I need to give myself every chance.

“We spoke, yes. I needed to get his opinion, that’s all.”
