Paper round-up: Everton tipped to move for Cresswell

The Sun say Everton want to sign Aaron Cresswell from West Ham this summer.

The newspaper claim Everton are looking to make a £25m move for the England international at the end of the season.

Everton’s former West Ham boss Sam Allardyce signed Cresswell, 28, for the Hammers from Ipswich four years ago and apparently wants him to compete with Leighton Baines.

The story comes despite Everton being widely tipped to replace Allardyce at the end of the season.

It is also claimed that Liverpudlian Cresswell, who was on Tranmere Rovers’ books as a youngster, wants to move back to Merseyside.

A source is quoted as saying: “Aaron is keen on moving back to Liverpool and Everton would be a great move for him.”

Meanwhile, The Independent reports that Tottenham players still don’t agree on who scored their second goal in the win against Stoke at the weekend.

Christian Eriksen has been credited with the goal but Spurs striker Harry Kane has insisted that he got the final touch.

“There are a lot of arguments going on around here,” Eriksen said.

“I think Harry, if he touched it, he touched it and it’s his goal. How he celebrated, he had the feeling he touched the ball.”
