Paper round-up: Pellegrini wants up to seven signings – Telegraph

The arrival of new manager Manuel Pellegrini has led to West Ham being linked with a number of players.

The Daily Telegraph say Pellegrini is keen to bring in up to seven new signings, including Chelsea’s number two goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who previously played under him at Manchester City.

City’s Yaya Toure is also said to be a target, with the Hammers expected to spend heavily this summer.

Tottenham have also been linked with a number of players in Friday’s newspapers after manager Mauricio Pochettino committed his future to the club by signing a new contract.

The Daily Mirror say Pochettino is determined to improve Spurs’ squad and wants to bring in Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon as well as Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and Ajax’s teenage centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, say Pochettino wants £100m to spend and also wants Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha.

And John Terry would not be allowed to have a clause in his contract that he will not have to play against Chelsea if Aston Villa face them next season, The Times reports.

It follows reports that Terry will be excused from playing against his former club if Villa win promotion back to the Premier League and he signs a new deal.

Villa face Fulham in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Saturday.
