Paper round-up: Pellegrini could boost Hammers’ chances of Toure deal – Telegraph

West Ham are tipped to appoint former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager this week – and the Daily Telegraph say this could boost the Hammers’ chances of signing Yaya Toure.

Veteran midfielder Toure, 35, is leaving City and West Ham are said to be keen to snap him up.

His wage demands have reportedly been a sticking point but the Telegraph suggest his former boss being installed could make Toure more likely to fancy a move to the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld continues to be linked with Manchester United.

The Daily Mirror say United boss Jose Mourinho will embark on a £250million-plus summer rebuild after his side failed to win a trophy this season.

The newspaper say Mourinho has met vice-chairman Ed Woodward to inform him of his transfer targets and that they include Alderweireld.

The Mirror say Jack Wilshere is ready to sign a new three-year contract at Arsenal and that the Gunners are set to appoint Mikel Arteta as manager.

But the Daily Mail claim outgoing Paris St-Germain boss Unai Emery has emerged as a shock last-minute candidate to take over at Arsenal.

Manchester City are planning a £100m deal for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, the Daily Star claim.

And boss Antonio Conte is set to leave Chelsea in the next 48 hours, the Daily Express say.
