Paper round-up: Hammers reportedly face competition for Diop

West Ham face competition from Everton for the signing of Toulouse centre-back Issa Diop, the Daily Mirror say.

The Hammers are reported to have had an offer for Diop rejected by the French club on Wednesday.

And the Mirror say new Everton boss Marco Silva is keen to snap up the 21-year-old, who has also been linked with Fulham.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are set to offer Aston Villa £15m for Jack Grealish, according to The Sun.

The newspaper describe it as a “take-it-or-leave-it bid” for the 22-year-old, who is expected to leave financially struggling Villa this summer.

West London Sport, meanwhile, recently reported that Fulham are also interested in Grealish, who has been linked with several other clubs in recent weeks, including Chelsea.

Manchester United have ended their interest in Tottenham’s Danny Rose, the Daily Mirror say.

Rose has been consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford, with some reports claiming United boss Jose Mourinho was desperate to sign him and was willing to spend £50m on the England international.

But now the Mirror say Mourinho believes he has enough options at left-back, with Ashley Young and Luke Shaw having been joined by teenager Diogo Dalot, who has arrived from Porto.

Mourinho has told United’s vice-chairman Ed Woodward that adding Rose to his squad is no longer a priority, the Mirror say.

The Mirror also suggest Rose will now have to move abroad if he wants to leave Spurs, where he is under pressure for his place from Ben Davies.

The Daily Telegraph run a similar story, adding that Mourinho now sees signing a centre-back as more of a priority than bringing in Rose to play at left-back.

And Frank Lampard wants to take Chelsea’s England Under-21 left-back Jay Dasilva to Derby County, also according to the Mirror.
