Paper round-up: Independent say Emery wants Gomes

Arsenal are the latest English club to be linked with Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.

The Portugal international has previously been touted for moves to Premier League sides, including Tottenham and West Ham.

The Independent reckon Gunners boss Unai Emery wants to sign him and is willing to sell players in order to fund the deal.

Barca apparently want £30m for Gomes, who has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Nou Camp.

Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph say Chelsea are looking to sell Danny Drinkwater for £30m and would also be willing to sell Willian – who has been linked with Manchester United and Barcelona – in order to fund new signings.

The Telegraph believe Chelsea want £60m for Willian and that the club would rather sell to Barca than United unless the Old Trafford club are open to a swap deal involving Anthony Martial.

The Sun claim Barcelona are ready to offer Willian’s Brazil team-mate Paulinho to Chelsea as part of an exchange deal.

The Sun and the Mail have picked up on reports in France claiming that Tottenham have entered a race to sign Adrien Rabiot from Paris St-Germain.

France Football have claimed that Spurs are keen to sign Rabiot, who was previously linked with Arsenal.
