Paper round-up: Sun on Sunday say Arsenal wanted Shaw

Manchester United rejected an attempt by Arsenal to sign Luke Shaw during negotiations over Alexis Sanchez, The Sun on Sunday claim.

Sanchez is expected to join United with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to the Emirates Stadium as part of the deal.

The Sun on Sunday say Arsenal were keen on Shaw but that United want the left-back to stay at Old Trafford.

The Sun on Sunday also claim Tottenham are planning a move to sign Atletico Madrid’s Kevin Gameiro on loan.

Swansea and Turkish club Fenerbahce reportedly also want the 30-year-old forward, who is said to have rejected the chance to join the Swans.

The Sun on Sunday say Atletico would rather sell Gameiro but that Spurs are keen on a potential loan deal.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are prepared to offer Spurs £200m for Harry Kane, according to the Sunday Times.

The Mail on Sunday say West Ham have been offered the chance to sign former Arsenal forward Samir Nasri, who is set to leave Turkish club Antalyaspor, and that Crystal Palace are set to sign Benfica midfielder Erdal Rakip on loan.

The Sunday Mirror say West Ham are considering an approach to take Portugal midfielder Joao Mario on loan from Inter Milan.

Chelsea have made an approach to Leicester City to sign Islam Slimani on loan, according to the Sunday Times.

And Sunderland boss Chris Coleman wants to sign Ethan Ampadu on loan from Chelsea, the Sun on Sunday say.
