Palace considering possible deals for Davies and Gestede, Guardian say

Crystal Palace are interested in Tottenham’s Ben Davies and could move for Aston Villa forward Rudy Gestede, The Guardian say.

With Pape Souaré sidelined, Eagles boss Alan Pardew is keen to sign a left-back when the transfer window reopens in January.

And it is claimed that Palace will look into the possibility of taking Wales international Davies on loan from Spurs.

Davies, fit again after an ankle injury, operates as Danny Rose’s understudy and has made just three Premier League appearances this season.

The Guardian suggest Davies could be made available if Tottenham sign Fulham’s highly-rated teenager Ryan Sessegnon, and that Palace have been priced out of a move for Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor, who would apparently cost at least £6m.

Swansea’s Neil Taylor is touted as a possible alternative to Davies and would apparently cost £4m, perhaps with Palace’s Jonathan Williams joining the Welsh club as part of any deal.

With Pardew also looking for a striker after Connor Wickham joined Loic Remy on the sidelines, The Guardian say Palace are aware of Gestede’s possible availability and could consider a move for him.

Villa may look to secure Palace’s out-of-favour former Birmingham City midfielder Jordon Mutch as part of the deal, The Guardian say.
