Papers: Arsenal linked with German defender

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann.

The Express have picked up on a story in German newspaper Bild claiming that the Gunners are keen to snap up Klostermann, 22, this summer.

He has made 74 appearances for Leipzig since joining them in 2014 and he is under contract at the Bundesliga club until the summer of 2021.

He has enjoyed an impressive season and been linked with several European clubs in recent months

Arsenal were linked with Klostermann two years ago and it is again claimed they are keen, with new manager Unai

Emery said to be hoping to bring him to north London.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Chelsea are ready to cut their losses on Danny Drinkwater less than a year after signing him for £30m.

Drinkwater struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge last season following his move from Leicester City.

The Mirror suggest Chelsea could look to sell the England international and use the money to bring in Nice’s Jean Michael Seri, who continues to be linked with a move to the Bridge.

A number of other clubs have also been linked with Ivory Coast international Seri, including Arsenal and West Ham.
