Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino looks unlikely to take over at Arsenal or Manchester United – at least for the time being.

Pochettino, who was recently replaced at Spurs by Jose Mourinho, has been linked with the manager’s job at his ex-club’s north London rivals Arsenal, who have sacked Unai Emery.

Pochettino has also long been linked with United, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been under pressure for some time.

However, the Sunday Express say Pochettino would have to repay a £12.5m pay-off from Spurs were he to take over at another Premier League club this season.

The Daily Star Sunday say Arsenal want Brendan Rodgers and that the Leicester boss is keen on the job but that the Gunners may wait until the end of the season to appoint him.

The Sunday Mirror, on the other hand, say Mikel Arteta is the man Arsenal want to take over.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Telegraph reports that Pochettino has been advised by friends against taking the Arsenal job and that he should wait for possible openings at the likes of United, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

The Sunday Telegraph also suggest Freddie Ljungberg, who has been placed in interim charge, is a possible contender for the Arsenal job on a full-time basis.

But the Daily Star Sunday claim West Ham see Ljungberg as a potential replacement for the under-pressure Manuel Pellegrini.
