West Ham and Newcastle are interested in signing Dele Alli from Tottenham, according to Eurosport.
Alli has been out of favour at Spurs, leading to reports that his days at the club could be numbered.
However, he impressed in Spurs’ entertaining 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool – his first Premier League start since Antonio Conte took over as boss..
And Jamie Redknapp believes Alli can re-establish himself as a Tottenham first-team regular.
Former Tottenham, Liverpool and England midfielder Redknapp thinks Conte’s arrival could prove to be a turning point for Alli.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “The midfield were excellent and he (Conte) got a real shift out of Dele Alli.
“We’ve spoken about how many chances he can get. If he can keep up that kind of form there’s no reason why he can’t become a regular in this team. I thought he was exceptional.”
Redknapp also believes Conte deploying a three-man midfield will play to Alli’s strengths.
“The system is going to help him because it gets an extra man in midfield,” Rednapp explained.
“If they play a 3-4-3 then that is more difficult because you’ve got got two in there (midfield) and three up front and I don’t really see him as one of those players that can get in those positions.
“But in a three in midfield, as long as he keeps running out to the full-backs when he can and arriving in the box, it works perfectly for him.
“He’s just got to make sure he keeps himself fit. There’s a chance for him.”
