Tottenham’s Dele Alli faces a number of weeks on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury.
Alli, 20, picked up the injury in training, ruling him out of Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
He is therefore also set to miss England’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland and the friendly with Spain next week.
Mauricio Pochettino revealed ahead of the Arsenal game that he expects Alli to be out of action for “a few weeks” with the injury.
“He twisted his knee in a clash with a team-mate,” manager Pochettino told reporters.
“I hope it is not a big issue. It’s bad luck – he’s an important player for us.”
On a brighter note for Spurs, England striker Harry Kane was passed fit to return to the starting line-up for the derby after an ankle injury.
And Moussa Dembele, who had been nursing a knock, came through a late fitness test to also take his place in the starting XI.
Tottenham are without the suspended Moussa Sissoko and the injured Ben Davies, Erik Lamela and Toby Alderweireld.
