Tottenham duo look set to move on

There is speculation over the futures of Tanguy Ndombele and Steven Bergwijn, who both look likely to leave Tottenham.

Ndombele was jeered by some Spurs fans during the FA Cup win against lowly Morecambe and is reported to be looking to move on. The Athletic say he is hopeful of securing a transfer.

Boss Antonio Conte was non-committal on the issue of the player’s future when asked about the issue at the manager’s post-match press conference.

And Conte offered little in terms of sympathy for the stick Ndombele got, suggesting it was to be expected given his level of performance.

“This type of situation, they are in football,” Conte said. “You have to be good to change the opinions. I was a player and it happened sometimes to me that someone was unhappy with my performance.

“This is our life. It’s OK. We have to continue to work and try to be better next time. We have to know very well that if we perform well, the fans are happy. If you don’t perform well, the fans are not happy.”

Bergwijn, meanwhile, could be heading back to his native Netherlands.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Ajax are among clubs interested in signing Bergwijn during this month’s transfer window.
