Son Heung-min and the fit-again Erik Lamela have been involved in more goals for Tottenham on a per-minute basis than Christian Eriksen this season, statistics show.
Tottenham face Juventus in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Wembley on Wednesday and many fans have been discussing whether Son or Lamela is the more deserving of a place in the starting XI.
Son has been exceptional recently, netting a double against Rochdale last Wednesday and following it up with two more goals in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield at the weekend.
Despite Son’s form, Lamela was given the nod ahead of him at Juventus in the first leg three weeks ago and it’s likely that one will miss out on a starting spot on Wednesday.
However, analysis by fantasy football game Oulala.com in fact suggest both might deserve to play rather than Eriksen.
The Dane’s record of a goal or an assist every 161 minutes in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season is less impressive on paper than both Son and Lamela.
Son has been directly involved in a goal, on average, every 108 minutes. And Lamela has an average of 159 minutes.
