Southampton defender Jannik Vestergaard is among the players being linked with Tottenham following the recent appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo as manager.
The Daily Mail say Spurs have held talks over a move for the Denmark international, whose Saints contract expires next summer.
Spurs have been widely tipped to add to their defensive options, particularly in light of continuing doubts over the future of Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgian is in the final year of his contract at the club and reportedly wants to leave Tottenham during this summer’s transfer window.
The Mail also say Spurs are front-runners to snap up Vestergaard’s international team-mate Joachim Andersen from Lyon but that Nuno will have the final say on whether he is signed.
Andersen impressed while on loan at Fulham last season and is expected to remain in the Premier League following their relegation.
He has long been linked with a move to Tottenham, but other clubs are also believed to be interested in Andersen.
The Mail also reports that Spurs remain in talks to sign Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, who can play at centre-back or right-back.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Nuno is keen to sign Benfica’s Switzerland international striker Haris Seferovic.
