Spurs boss Nuno reportedly told he can keep Kane

New Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo has reportedly been told the club will not sell Harry Kane without his blessing.

It comes amid continued speculation over the future of the Spurs and England striker.

Manchester City and Chelsea have been linked with Kane, who has indicated that he wants to move this summer.

But the Daily Telegraph reports that Nuno will be given the final say on whether Kane is allowed to go.

The Daily Mail run a similar story, declaring that Kane will not be sold.

Recent reports have suggested that City are eyeing Antoine Griezmann as a possible alternative to  Kane.

Kane has three years remaining on his contract and chairman Daniel Levy has made it clear that Spurs will not be bullied into selling him.

And Spanish outlet Fichajes claim City could target Barcelona’s France forward Griezmann instead.

ESPN have reported that City are willing to wait a year to sign Kane if a deal is not possible this summer.

The Daily Star, on the other hand, have claimed that City are planning a ‘take-it-or-leave-it offer’ of £100m and that it will be submitted after Euro 2020.

Levy is said to be demanding closer £150m for Kane and has warned that Tottenham will not be prepared to let him leave for less than the asking price.

Levy recently told Spurs’ website: “I am never going to talk about any specific player in public. All I will say is his frustrations in not winning are shared by me and all the fans and players. We all want to win.”

Levy was speaking as the appointment of new director of football Fabio Paratici was confirmed.

He said: “One of the items that Fabio will have to deal with when he comes in is which players are going to be retained, which will be asked to look for other clubs.

“There is a market out there. What we want and what other clubs want is not always possible to achieve. We will do whatever is right for the club.”
