Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says his fringe players – and possibly Dele Alli – will be involved in the Carabao Cup clash with West Ham.

Alli has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in the previous round but is back in training and could feature against the Hammers.

Pochettino has described Alli’s return to contention as being like a new signing.

He will make several changes, with the fourth-round tie coming just 48 hours after Spurs’ 1-0 defeat at Manchester City at Wembley.

“We are going to use players that normally haven’t been used in the last few games,” Pochettino confirmed.

“We are going to have the opportunity to see them and to give them the opportunity to play.

“It’s a derby and it will be very competitive.”
