Walker ‘deserves a good reception’ – Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino says Kyle Walker deserves a good reception from the home fans when Tottenham face Manchester City this weekend.

Many Spurs supporters were angered by the manner of the England defender’s move from north London to City.

Tottenham boss Pochettino said: “It’s natural sometimes for the fans to be disappointed when they love some player and the decision is to move.

“But I think after seven or eight months after that thing happened he deserves a good reception from the fans.

“I think the fans love him, (they were) disappointed in the moment that he left, but he deserves a good reception from the fans.”

Tottenham’s Danny Rose will miss the game on Saturday night due to a calf injury.

Left-back Rose picked up the minor problem after playing 90 minutes against Stoke, though his absence is not expected to be lengthy.

Midfielder Harry Winks is in Qatar seeking answers to an ankle injury while defender Kyle Walker-Peters, who has a hamstring problem, also misses out against the champions elect.

City, meanwhile, will be without Sergio Aguero at Wembley.

The Argentine striker has been struggling with a knee problem.
