Former Arsenal chief Gazidis wants Spurs boss Pochettino at Milan – reports

AC Milan are reportedly keen on Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Corriere della Sera say Pochettino is Milan’s first choice to take over as manager this summer if the club decide to sack Gennaro Gattuso, who has been under intense pressure.

The report suggests that Milan chief executive Ivan Gazidis, who recently arrived from Arsenal, wants Pochettino at the San Siro.

It follows speculation linking the Argentine with Manchester United and Real Madrid, who have subsequently appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Zinedine Zidane respectively.

Pochettino has made it clear he is happy at Spurs and intends to remain at the club.

And he would surely not be tempted to leave for Milan now Tottenham are playing in their new stadium.

They began at their new home with a win over Crystal Palace this week and Pochettino was in buoyant mood after the game.

“After five years together, to be here as a manager today I am a lucky man and I want to say thank you to Daniel Levy and everyone who made this possible,” he said.

“It was special, like the last day at White Hart Lane. It’s one of the best moments of my life. It will always be in my heart.”
