Spurs and United ‘monitoring Eriksen’

Christian Eriksen’s fine performances for Brentford have led to speculation about his future.

The Mail say Manchester United and Eriksen’s former club Tottenham are monitoring him ahead of a possible move this summer.

Eriksen has been hugely impressive since joining the Bees, who signed him on a contract until the end of the season.

He is rebuilding his career having spent time out of the game after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at the European Championship last year.

Eriksen was outstanding and scored one of Brentford’s goals in their 4-1 victory at Chelsea on Saturday, when they came from behind to win in stunning fashion.

Bees boss Thomas Frank is hoping to keep his fellow Dane at the west London club beyond the of the campaign, when he will be available on a free transfer if the likes of United and Spurs look to snap him up.

Speaking at his post-match press conference after the win at Stamford Bridge, Frank said: “I’m just very pleased he’s playing for us. It’s no secret that I want him to continue next season.

“I know Christian is enjoying his football and really enjoying being back. Let’s see what will happen.”
