Paper round-up: Southgate linked with Tottenham job

There continues to be speculation over the future of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Daily Star Sunday claim England boss Gareth Southgate has been lined up as a possible replacement should Pochettino go.

The Sun on Sunday claim Tottenham players are starting to believe that Pochettino will soon leave, with Manchester United his preferred destination.

Meanwhile, West Ham are set to put a £100m price tag on Declan Rice in order to see off interest from United, the Sunday Express say.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer is said to be keen to sign England international Rice when the transfer window opens in January.

The Sunday Express say the Hammers are determined to keep Rice and will attempt to price United out of a move.

Chelsea are leading a race to sign Wigan youngster Joe Gelhardt, it is claimed.

Everton are also said to be keen on the England Under-17 international, who has yet to start a game for Wigan.

The Sunday Express declare that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard “is in pole position” to sign Gelhardt, 17, despite interest from other clubs.

The newspaper say would be happy to wait until the summer to bring in Gelhardt if an appeal against Chelsea’s transfer ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport is unsuccessful.

And the Mail on Sunday have picked up on reports in Spain suggesting that Barcelona remain interested in signing Chelsea’s Willian.
